SUCCEED: A CO2 storage and utilisation project aimed at mitigating against greenhouse gas emissions from geothermal power production
نویسندگان
چکیده
The non-condensable gases in most geothermal resources include CO2 and smaller amounts of other gases. Currently, the worldwide power is a small sector within energy industry, emissions related to utilisation are consequently small. In some countries, however, production contributes significantly their budget relatively significant. SUCCEED targeted innovation research project which aims investigate reinjection produced at sites develop, test demonstrate field scale innovative measurement, monitoring verification (MMV) technologies that can be used geological storage projects. carried out two operating sites, Kizildere Turkey CarbFix site Hellisheiði field. Together with brief description seismic proposed project, this paper presents details progress made installing testing surface fibre-optic cables Iceland.

Understanding Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Unconventional Natural Gas Production
Natural gas comprises almost one-fourth of all energy used in the U.S. New technologies, sometimes referred to as “unconventional” have enabled the production of more natural gas and have expanded domestic energy reserves. Natural gas is generally recognized as a clean-burning fuel source, producing less greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions per quantity of energy consumed than either coal or oil. How...

doi:10.1289/ehp.11562 Cohn et al. (2008) suggested that birth cohort trends in breast cancer rates for women under 50 years of age are consistent with declining use of DDT (dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane) after 1959. They cited Weiss (2007) in claiming that increased detection and treatment of in situ breast cancer must be considered when interpreting recent trends in breast cancer mortality r...
متن کاملGreenhouse gas emissions in livestock production systems
Agriculture is responsible for a significant proportion of total anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions (perhaps 18% globally), and therefore has the potential to contribute to efforts to reduce emissions as a means of minimising the risk of dangerous climate change. The largest contributions to emissions are attributed to ruminant methane production and nitrous oxide from animal waste and fert...
